Marriage in the K-pop Industry
Contrary to popular belief, it’s actually not uncommon for K-pop idols to settle down and start a family when they’re still active in the industry. K-pop fans might be known for their possessive behavior towards their idols, and always go crazy after every dating scandal comes out, but that doesn’t mean no active idols in the industry have significant others because of it. In fact, some of them actually got married.
People have had various reactions regarding this issue, but most of them are supportive and happy that their favorite idols finally found their love and happiness. That’s as it’s supposed to be; idols are human, too, and they’re allowed to feel love.
In this article, Channel-Korea will be providing you a list of K-pop idols who are already married. Some of them are still active in the industry, while the rest of them have retired to focus on their families. So, stay tuned!
Ex-U-Kiss’ Kiseop & Jung Yuna
First, we have former U-Kiss member Kiseop and his beautiful wife, Jung Yu-na!
Kiseop announced the happy news through his personal Instagram on August 1, 2019. Reporting from Soompi, he announced his marriage to his lover, Jung Yuna, that was held on August 24, 2019.
“You may be surprised, but I am writing this letter because I have met the person I want to spend the rest of my life with,” Kiseop wrote at the beginning of his letter. Kiseop called his future wife someone very valuable to him. He wrote a number of sweet sentences for his future wife. “From now on, I want to be responsible for her happiness, because she always looks at me. I promise to marry her so we can have a wonderful day with her,” said Kiseop.
At the end of his letter, Kiseop thanked fans for their support so far. He also hoped that fans would give him their blessing. “I will repay [the fans’ love] through new challenges and a good image in the future. I will appreciate it if you give us your blessing and support for our happy days ahead,” he added.
Based on TV Report reports, Jung Yu-na is a newcomer model and actress. She met Kiseop as a model in the U-Kiss video clip, Distance. In the past, she was also a trainee at the former agency of Kiseop, nhemg.
“Jung Yu-na and I were both born in 1991, so initially we were friends, but naturally became a couple,” Kiseop told the media.
Kiseop tied the knot with rookie actress and model Jung Yu-na on August 24, 2019. The reception performed by comedian Kim Yong-myung and the nuptial song was sung by Huh Gak.
Through a telephone interview, he also told TV Report, “It’s not easy to decide to get married as a public servant. I’m anxious, but I’m more curious about the days we’re going to have in the future together.”
He also expressed his appreciation to the members of the U-KISS when he commented, “When I first spoke to the leaders, they took it very well and said to me that this is a blessing.” On March 21, 2019, Kiseop joined the military as a public service worker because of the declining condition of his pre-existing herniated disk. A few months later, on May 16, 2019, nhemg announced the expiry of the company’s exclusive contracts with Eli and Kiseop.
Kiseop and Jung Yu-na held a press conference at the wedding venue before the wedding ceremony, where they took questions about their marriage, dating life, and plans for the future.
Kiseop said, “I’ve been on the stage for 10 years, but it’s a special kind of nervousness today. It’s a new sensation. I looked forward to this day, but it’s profoundly moving now that my dream has come true. Today is a day in which I look forward to the future.” Meanwhile, Jung Yu-na said, “We spent our time as close friends while we were dating. We’ve become a husband and wife now that we’re together. We have to work together as we understand each other, appreciate each other, and respect each other. I’m concerned about that, but I’m also happy about that. I’m looking forward to our days together.”
Kiseop added that the couple had no plans for kids at the moment. “People said, Why do you get married suddenly? And they speculated it was because we’re waiting for a baby. That’s not accurate at all. My wife works as a model and I have to fulfill my duties as a public servant. We expect to have kids about 3 or 4 years from now, about 33 or 34 years old. We don’t get married because she’s pregnant.”
Finally, Kiseop expressed that he wanted to be a husband who could support his wife as a pillar, so she could eat what she wanted to eat and do what she wanted to do. Meanwhile, Jung Yu-na said she wanted to become a responsible and loving woman who loves her husband and cares about him.

After School’s Kahi & Yang Joon-moo
Next, we have former After School member Kahi and her husband, Yang Joon-moo!
Park Ji-young, or more familiarly with her stage name, Kahi, is the former leader of the K-pop group After School. Kahi’s life after leaving the group is still interesting to talk about because she now has a career in acting and a solo career. As you may already know, Kahi married her husband, Yang Joon-moo, who was the CEO of Korea Incase, on March 26, 2016, after dating for a year. From her marriage, Kahi was blessed with two children, named Yang No-ah (Noah) and Yang Shi-on (Zion).
A source from the fashion industry revealed that Kahi and CEO Yang Jun-moo had known each other for a long time. They felt well-suited because they both have extreme sports hobbies. The marriage of Kahi and CEO Yang Jun-moo was held in Hawaii in 2016. Family and close friends both presented at the wedding. Despite marrying the CEO, their wedding party in Hawaii was far from excessive.
The couple has two sons, Noah, who was born in 2016, and Zion, who was born in 2018. Before the birth of her second child, Kahi had a chance to be on the variety show The Return of Superman. At this moment, Kahi’s husband appeared on the screen for the first time. The handsome husband of the former After School member naturally got a lot of attention.
Not only does he have a good looking face, but Yang Joon-moo also proved that he is a caring husband and father at the same time. In the morning, he was seen massaging Kahi’s legs, then playing with Noah, and even holding him when his son was sleepy.
This little family was later seen doing a maternity shoot with a beach theme. Kahi’s husband suddenly said goodbye and left in a hurry for work reasons. But, actually, Yang Joon-moo prepared a surprise in the form of a baby shower.
Yang Joon-moo was seen inviting Kahi’s good friends, including Choo Sa-rang’s mother, Yano Shiho. Even in this episode, Choo Seung-hoon’s wife again expressed her desire to have a son, who was later answered ‘no comment’ by her husband when they made a video call.
