Current Actresses and Actors
Before we dive deep into the rumor, first let’s take a look at who are the actresses and actors that are currently under JYP Entertainment’s Acting Division!
Rookie actor Kang Hoon (Hangul: 강훈) was born in South Korea on the 23rd of May, 1991. He started his big-screen career by starring in the Naver Tv/YouTube Web drama titled Office Watch playing the character named Kim Kyung-joon. From that, he continued his acting career in drama series such as Let Me Introduce Her/Geunyeoro Malhal Geot Gateumyun (SBS/2018), When the Devil Calls Your Name/Akmaga Neoui Yireumeul Booreul Ddae (tvN/2019), and the recent drama Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung/Shinibsagwan Goohaeryung (MBC/2019). Before taking part in dramas, Kang Hoon also showcased his stand-out performances in short films. The titles include Kori, Picnic, and Meaning of You. He signed an exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment in December 2017.
For the K-Drama watchers, Yoon Park’s face is not something we’re unfamiliar with. Born on the 18th of November, 1987, the South Korean actor has been in the industry for more than eight years. He started his career in the entertainment industry as a drummer for the band called Can’t Play Well (Korean: 못 노는 애들), which won the Bronze Prize at the 34th MBC Campus Song Festival in 2010. At first, he joined the S.M. Entertainment acting division but later moved to JYP Entertainment in 2013. He has starred in a few notable television dramas, such as the hit drama What Happens to My Family (KBS2/2014), Flower of Queen (MBC/2015), Hello, My Twenties! (JTBC/2016), Introvert Boss (tvN/2017), and Radio Romance (KBS2/2018). He also starred in a few movie roles such as Romance in Seoul (2014), The Soup (2014), and Jester: The Game Changers (2019) as well as being a guest in a few television shows such as Law of the Jungle (SBS/2017) and Battle Trip (KBS2/2017). In 2018, he won the Excellence Award, Actor in a One-Act/Special/Short Drama at the KBS Drama Awards thanks to his outstanding performance in The Tuna and the Dolphin.
One more familiar face! Shin Eun-soo (born October 23rd, 2002) whom you might have seen wandering in the TV as one of the SBS Inkigayo MCs is actually a South Korean actress under JYP Entertainment. She made her acting debut as the female lead in the film Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned (2016) and also landed a role in the popular television series Legend of the Blue Sea (2016) and Bad Papa (2018). At first, she joined JYP Entertainment (JYPE) in 2014 to train as both a singer and an actress. But, in 2015, she auditioned for the female leading role in the movie Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned and successfully got the role although she never acted prior to that movie. She was then given two months for preparation and acting training and was praised for her performance in a major role despite being a newcomer at such a young age. Her acting as the teenage version of Jun Ji-hyun’s character in the television series Legend of the Blue Sea was truly outstanding. Her latest movie project, Homme Fatale was aired in July 2019 where she played a supporting role named Sook-jung.
Kim Dong-hee (born June 13th, 1999) is perhaps most famous for playing in the hit Korean television series Sky Castle (JTBC/2019), in which he played the role of Cha Seo-joon, the twin brother of Cha Ki-joon and the son of Cha Ye-ri and Cha Min-hyuk’s family. Prior to his big role in Sky Castle, he also gathered many fans for his role in the Naver TV web series A-TEEN (2018) as well as A-TEEN 2 (2019). There, he acted with his co-actress from the same company, Shin Ye-eun. His latest project and upcoming drama where he played alongside Jung Da-bin and Park Ju-hyun, Extracurricular (Korean: 인간수업; RR: Ingansueob; lit. Human Class) is set to be released on Netflix in 2019.
Park Si Eun
Park Si-eun (born August 1st, 2001) is a South Korean actress and also the daughter of the Korean singer, Park Nam-jung. Si-eun signed a contract with JYP Entertainment on January 18th, 2017.
