John Cho graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1990. Then, he continued his studies at University of California, Berkeley, and graduated in 1996 with BA degree in English literature.

Jhon Cho married his girlfriend Kerri Higuchi in 2006, and he now has two children. Their first child, a boy, was born in 2008, and their second child, a daughter, was born in 2013. His son’s name is Kage Cho. Once, John Cho was visited by his son while he was shooting for the Star Trek film.

He really loves his wife, and said that his wife really inspires him. Cho gave a statement to Glamour, “My wife was confident in a way that I was very attracted to. She knows who she is. I knew nothing about that. I was so unsettled at that age, and so scatterbrained. It’s beautiful when you see a person who’s self-assured and knows who she is.”
