The first drama that brought Ji Sung and Hwang Jung-eum together is the 2013 drama, Secret Love (Korean: 비밀; RR: Bimil; lit. Secret). The show aired from September 25 to November 14, 2013, on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55 KST on KBS2. The drama ran in a total of 16 episodes. The drama is filled with dense and confusing secrets.

Hwang Jung-eum plays the role of Kang Yoo-jung, who chooses to sacrifice her future by blaming her then-boyfriend Do-hoon’s crime after a ‘hit and run’ murder. After she emerges from prison, she becomes a stronger woman looking for a fresh start and refusing to give in to despair.

Meanwhile, Ji Sung plays the role of Jo Min-hyuk, a rich and second-generation chaebol who lacks a pleasant personality and manner. After his girlfriend died in the hit and run accident, he burns with revenge on the culprit. Later, the story gets complicated as he realizes that things are not as seen and develops a romantic feeling to the kind supposed-culprit, Kang Yoo-jung, as she teaches him how to be kind.
