Who’s Jeon Somi?
Jeon Somi, or using her her real name, Ennik Somi Douma, was born on March 9, 2001, in Ontario, Canada. She’s a Canadian-Korean singer who currently lives in South Korea. Somi’s debut was because she had participated in the survival show Produce 101 and was chosen as part of the new girl group called I.O.I, but the group disbanded after a year. Somi has been part of JYP Entertainment, although she has now moved to their sub-label, The Black Label. Jeon Somi has one little sister, named Evelyn Douma. Her career began when she played in the 2014 film, Ode to My Father, as Mark Soon-yoon’s eldest daughter but just a cameo role.

Apart from JYP Entertainment, Jeon Somi is reportedly joining The Black Lable, a sub-label of YG Entertainment led by producer Teddy. Besides that, according to the news, Jeon Somi will be debuting as a solo singer, which will lead to a faster debut than if she was part of another group.
That news caused a lot of reactions from netters, and some of them hate the idea. This was evidenced in Somi’s post on Instagram when she was on vacation in the Netherlands.
In her post, there was a comment which accused her of not respecting JYP Entertainment. The hater said :
Somi is rumored to be making her solo debut in March 2019, and is currently busy preparing the new song for her debut. Again and again, Somi has gotten scathing comments from netters about her solo career. Netters doubt her voice and accuse her of using autotuned, or say that Chungha’s dancing is better than hers.
