Jang Won-young made her debut with IZ*ONE on October 29th, 2018, with their first extended play Color*Iz with “La Vie en Rose” as its lead single. The group made their debut stage on November 1st, performing “O’ My!” and “La Vie en Rose” on Mnet’s M Countdown. The group earned their first music show win on November 8th, 2018, on M! Countdown, making them the fastest female group to win on a music show since debuting with a record of 10 days.
The music video reached more than 4.5 million views in the first 24 hours of its release on YouTube, surpassing the previous record held by Stray Kids for most views of a K-Pop group’s debut music video within 24 hours.
On January 20th, 2019, IZ*ONE held their Japanese debut show-con in Tokyo Dome City Hall to promote their first Japanese single titled “Suki to Iwasetai” and the group released the music video for the song five days after the event. The single was officially released on February 6th, 2019.
On April 1st, 2019, IZ*ONE released their second EP, Heart*Iz, with “Violeta” as the album’s lead single and the music video was released on the same day.
After their promotion with “Violeta,” IZ*ONE continued their promotions in Japan by releasing two EPs, Buenos Aires, which was released on June 21st, 2019, and Vampire, which was released on September 25th, 2019.
IZ*ONE was scheduled to release their first studio album, Bloom*Iz, on November 11th, 2019. However, their comeback was postponed due to the Mnet vote manipulation investigation and it was revealed that all twelve members of IZ*ONE were selected before the finale of Produce 48. As a result, IZ*ONE’s showcases, promotions, and several guest appearances were canceled or put on hold, which included the release of their concert film, Eyes on Me: The Movie, and their Japanese promotions.
On January 6th, 2020, the members’ agencies and CJ ENM reached an agreement to resume the group’s activities. The group subsequently released their first studio album Bloom*Iz with “Fiesta” as its lead single on February 17th, 2020.
