Get to Know Former Stellar Member, Hyoeun
Back in 2014, the girl-group Stellar shocked the K-pop industry with their controversial music video, Marionette. Since then, the group established a sexy and provocative concept as their image, with sensual dances and suggestive music videos. People both love and hate them for it, but Stellar was making their name because of that.
Brief information about the group for those who don’t know: Stellar consisted of four members, Ga-young, Min-hee, Hyo-eun, and Jun-Yool. Formed in 2011 by The Entertainment Pascal, the group attracted attention because it was originally produced by Eric Mun, who is a member of the boy-band Shinhwa. Stellar got a bad name in February 2014, when they adopted a more provocative theme for the album cover of their first single, Marionette. The song and the album are at number thirty-five on the Gaon Digital Chart, making their single the most commercially successful one so far.

Hyoeun’s Thoughts on Stellar’s Disbandment
Stellar surprised fans by declaring their disbandment. Through a telephone connection with Star News in February 2018, Hyoeun also had time to discuss the dissolution of the group she was working with.
“I do not feel depressed, I have prepared if the group disbanded even before the news came out,” said Hyoeun, and then she told more about the group. “Before the Chinese New Year, we rested. At the end of January, the label told us that Stellar might disbanded.”
“After Yulhee and Gayoung left the label in August 2017, Stellar has entered our schedule as 4 members of the group with our new members, Soyoung and Youngeun. We got two new members, so we will continue as Stellar,” she continued. “We had a break after our latest album, but we didn’t even think about the possible disbandment of Stellar. Hearing from our label that we would disband, we hurriedly prepared fan meeting.”
“We do not have friction between members. But it is rather awkward because there are new members, but we became closer after conducting a joint schedule after August 2017,” said Hyoeun, and then revealed the difficulties experienced by Stellar. “We are having a hard time on our label. We disagree with the direction of our problem, and have friction with the label, as usual.”
“Stellar has a special place in my heart, so this decision is disappointing, but it is a decision that comes after a lot of thought,” Hyoeun said. “After the news, I haven’t been able to contact the CEO.”
“I haven’t decided anything, I hear Yulhee and Gayoung are preparing to become actresses, I really want to continue singing, and I want to try musicals,” she concluded when asked about her future career. “I have almost no individual activities, so I want to try it, I can’t decide on new labels easily, so I want to take the time and think about it deeply.”
