Meet Contestants of Mnet Dance Show ‘Hit the Stage’!

Se-yong (MYNAME)

Se-yong is one of the members from the idol group, MYNAME. His position is as the lead rapper, vocalist, and also a dancer. Se-yong signed under the label H2 Media, and debuted in 2011 as a member of MYNAME. His real name is Kim Se-yong (김세용), and was born in Busan, South Korea, on November 20, 1991.

Se-yong a trainee for JYP Entertainment for three years, but left for personal reasons. Se-yong was a co-writer for several of MYNAME’s songs, and has appeared in television dramas such as Green Carriage (2009) and I Believe In Love (2011).

Se-yong become one of a participants on Hit The Stage, and he appeared for the first time on episodes 7-8 but didn’t continue to the final episode. He reached the 8th Rank, with a 130 Score from the audience.

Feeldog (BIGSTAR)

Feeldog was known as an original member of the South Korean boy-group, BIGSTAR. He is the leader of the group, as well as the main dancer, vocalist, and rapper. Feeldog’s (필독) real name is Oh Kwang-suk (오광석), and he was born in Busan, South Korea,  on February 26, 1992.

Despite his position as a leader, Feeldog is also a great dancer. According to K-Profiles, he also has a charisma on stage that makes him uniquely charming.

Because of his participation on Hit the Stage, there were some previously unknown facts that were ‘accidentally’ revealed from Feeldog. He used to be best friends with Hoya, who was also a participant of the show, and they were a duo of an underground hip-hop dance crew named Two O-Clock in Busan, back before they debuted.

The other thing is that he ended up falling in love with one of the other participants, SISTAR’s Bora, through the course of the show. The two idols confirmed they were dating on June 27, 2017.

There were rumors circulating prior to that, suggesting the idols were dating, but it took a little while before they confirmed it was true.

Now let’s get back to Feeldog’s performance on Hit The Stage. He appeared for the first time on episodes 3-4, and reached the 2nd Rank with a 159 Score from the audience and 6 Score from the judges.

Feeldog performed 3 times on Hit The Stage, but didn’t continue until the final episode. There were no explanations about why he left the show before final.

Yu-gyeom (GOT7)

Yu-gyeom is known as a member of the idol group GOT7. His position is as the main dancer, and he’s also the youngest member of the group (maknae). Yu-gyeom’s real name is Kim Yu-gyeom (김유겸), and he was born in Seoul, South Korea, on November 17, 1997.

According to KProfiles, Yu-gyeom specializes in street dancing, and is good at hip-hop moves like krumping, house dance, and popping. Yu-gyeom was a trainee around 2010 and early 2011 before debuting as an idol along with his group-mates in GOT7 in January 2014, under the label of JYP Entertainment.

He performed for the very first time on Hit The Stage on episode 9 as a new participant and reached the 2nd Rank with a score of 159 from the audience and a score of 10 from the judges.

On Episode 10, Yu-gyeom made his last performance on the show, placing first with a score of 163 from the audience and receiving a score of 8 from the judges. Although he was a new participant who only started in the preceding two episodes, Yu-gyeom could’ve passed the other participants and with his great ability in dancing.

Shownu (Monsta X)

Shownu is a member of the idol group Monsta X, from Starship Entertainment. He’s a vocalist and the leader of the group. Shownu’s real name is Son Hyun-woo (손현우), and he was born in Changdong, Donbonggu, Seoul, South Korea, on June 18, 1992.

Shownu was a JYP Entertainment trainee for two years and about to debut as a member of GOT7, but he left because of training absences. He then continued his career as Lee Hyo-ri’s back-up dancer before joining Starship Entertainment. He also appeared on No Mercy (2013), a survival show from Starship Entertainment filled with 13 trainees who competed against each other to debut as members a new boy-group, Monsta X.

Shownu was already known to be a great dancer even before he debuted, and he immediately joined Hit The Stage with his label mate, SISTAR’s Bora.

On episodes 1-2, Shownu made his first performances on Hit the Stage, and reached the 6th Rank, with a 149 score from the audience.

Bitto (UP10TION)

Bitto is a member of an idol boy group, UP10TION, from TOP Media. He’s the main dancer and main rapper of the group. Bitto’s real name is Lee Chang-hyun (이창현), and was born in Dongducheon, South Korea, on August 24, 1996.

According to KProfiles, Bitto joined the dance academy Def Dance School before he debuted as an idol. He also passed an audition from FNC Entertainment before joining TOP Media and was a trainee for a year and a half. Bitto finally made his debut with UP10TION in 2015.

Being talented in dance, Bitto became part of the next line-up to participate in Hit The Stage, and made his first appearance on the 9th episode. He reached between the 4th-7th Rank, with a 5 score from the judges.

Bitto only had one chance to perform on the show,  since he didn’t make it to the last episode of the show.

Rocky (ASTRO)

Rocky is a member of the idol boy-group, ASTRO, which was formed under the label of Fantagio and debuted in 2016. He’s the lead rapper and main dancer of the group. Rocky’s (라키) real name is Park Min-hyuk (박민혁), and he was born in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea,  onFebruary 25, 1999.

According to KProfiles, Rocky was known as Fantagio’s Dancing Machine and he’s the one who created the choreography for ASTRO’s Fireworks and Wake Up Call Music Video. Rocky’s talent for dancing is well recognized, and he was ready to compete with the other participants on Hit The Stage.

Rocky first appeared on the 5th episode, but he didn’t make it until the final episode. He ended up ranked 8th, with a 134 from the audience and a 7 from the judges.

Ten (NCT)

Ten (텐) is known as a member of NCT, the latest idol-group that was formed under SM Entertainment. He’s the lead dancer and vocalist of the group. Ten is from Thailand, but is ethnically Chinese. His birth name is Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul (ชิตพล ลี้ชัยพรกุล), and he also has the Korean name of Lee Young-heum (이영흠). Ten was born in Bangkok, Thailand, on February 27, 1996.

Ten was still a rookie when he participated on Hit The Stage, and he performed like such a professional dancer. He was the most flexible participant, who placed at every rank, from the lowest, to the highest place on the show.

On episodes 1-2, Ten reached the 4th Rank, with a 154 from the audience and a 6 from the judges.
