Background of “Heart Shaker”
The first time JYP Entertainment gave a sneak peek of “Heart Shaker” was in the previous video music of Twice for the song “Likey”. It was written “Heart Shaker” on a street advertisement and an arch in the music video. Also, in the post for “Likey” that was uploaded on Twice’s official Instagram account, there was a tag #HeartShaker. Then, JYP Entertainment, on November 27th, 2017, finally announced that Twice would release a reissue of their 1st full-length album called Twicetagram, titled Merry & Happy on December 11th.
Then, three days later, “Heart Shaker” was revealed as the lead single of the album. JYP Entertainment released some previews and teasers starting from December 4th until December 11th, including the song’s lyrics.

Story of “Heart Shaker”
“Heart Shaker” by Twice was written by the music production team called Galactika and co-composed by David Amber and Sean Alexander and released in 2017. From the lyrics, we can conclude that the song is about the feelings of a girl who boldly confesses to someone who has shaken her heart.
Tamar Herman from Billboard described the song as a “bright pop song [that] incorporates funky guitar riffs, twinkling synths, and soft harmonizing to create a vintage wintertime feel, but with an upbeat melody and impish delivery of the verses and the energetic chorus.”

The MV of “Heart Shaker” by Twice was released on December 11th, 2017, on JYP Entertainment’s Official YouTube Account. In the MV, Twice members wear white long-sleeved T-shirts and jeans. The dance was oriented in a variety of vibrant and retro-inspired sets.
Since the MV was released on December 11th, 2017, until January 22nd, 2018, it surpassed 100 million views on YouTube which is only 41 days after the release date. And on July 11th, the MV surpassed 200 million views and became Twice’s 5th music video to achieve this.
