Jun Tae-Soo’s Death and Cause
Korean actor Jeon Tae-soo, 33, was found dead in his apartment on Jan 21 after a long battle with depression. The K-drama actor (whose name is also known as Jun Taesu) was the younger brother of multiple award-winning actress Ha Ji-won, 39, whose birth name is Jeon Hae-rim. Ha has cancelled all of her public appearances, including current promotional activities for John Woo’s action movie Manhunt.
Haewadal Entertainment has released a statement that Jeon had been undergoing continued treatment for his depression, and was due to make his return to acting. There was no official statement on his cause of death, but a request was made that people refrain from publishing speculative articles or malicious comments.
The statement further read that: “Jeon Tae Soo was extremely passionate about acting and was a pure artist who was talented in other fields as well, such as art. We sincerely request that people refrain from publishing speculative articles or writing malicious comments about the late actor.”
The dashing actor was known for his roles in Sungkyunkwan Scandal, All My Love For You, and It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl.
His funeral is expected to be held in a very quiet manner and attended only by family members and close acquaintances. No cause of death had been reported so far. Following the news of her brother’s death, Ha Ji Won had cancelled all of her upcoming public appearances to be with her family.
The 39-year-old actress did not attend a recent press conference for her new film, Manhunt, and the film’s staff confirmed that they have cancelled all of her upcoming promotional activities for the film.
