GOT7 Members and Their Tattoos
It’s fairly common to find celebrities who have one or two tattoos decorating their body, including the members of GOT7’s. If we observe them carefully, we can see that a few members have tattoos. The members we know have ink are Mark, Bambam, and Yugyeom.
So far, fans have only spotted one tattoo on Mark’s body, which is located on his left ankle, and is a cross.
Meanwhile, Bambam has a tattoo on his right upper arm. The tattoo is of the roman numerals for “97”, which stands for the year of his birth.
Lastly, Yugyeom has a couple of tattoos, which are located on both sides of his torso. On the left side are the words “I’m not like that”, and on the right side is the drawing of a flower.
What do you think about GOT7’s tattoos?
Not only Mark, Bambam and Yugyeom, it turns out that Young-jae also has a tattoo! In fact, he has two of them. The first one is the phrase “Ars Longa Vita Brevis”, located on his right upper arm. Meanwhile, the other one is a ribbon-shaped tattoo that’s on his left upper arm.
He may have more ink than just those two, but if he does, he’s never admitted it to the public, and none of his fans have ever spotted another tattoo. What meaning do these tattoos hold? Are you curious about the meaning behind Young-jae’s tattoos? Let’s take a look!
What they Mean
Young-jae’s tattoo “Ars Longa Vita Brevis” comes from an inspiration quote that translates as “Life is long; Art is short”. He got the inspirational quote from the Greek physician Hippocrates’s quote, which comprises the first two lines of Aphorismi.
If we look deeper into the meaning of the quote, ‘art’ originally meant skill, and the idea behind it was that skill takes a long time to develop. As a doctor, Hippocrates believed that the time to learn to be a doctor is long, but someone can only be a doctor for a short amount of time. To put it simply, Ars Longa Vita Brevis means that it takes you a long time to acquire and master your skills, but you can only use them for a short amount of time.
Meanwhile, if we take a look at the tattoo which is shaped like a ribbon, it also has a quite deep meaning in it. The ribbon serves as a memento of the Sewol Ferry incident that happened in Korea back in 2014. The originally yellow-colored ribbon carries the meaning of hope and solidarity.
