Who are Wonder Girls and when did they Debut?
Wonder Girls is one of the South Korean Girl Groups produced by Park Jin Young under JYP Entertainment. Wonder girls debuted in 2007 and the group consists of seven members: Sunmi, Sohee, Yubin, Hyuna, Yenny, Sunye, and Hyelim. This group was co-managed in the United States by Creative Artists Agency (CAA). CAA is an American talent and sports agency business and manages numerous prestigious clients.
Wonder Girls choose K-pop, retro, and pop-rock music as their genres. Their hit single in late 2009 was ‘Nobody” and it was a huge success, gaining a spot at seventy-six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Wonder Girls became the first South Korean group to enter the chart.
Not only that, in Asia, Wonder Girls were successful at entering the Chinese market with the compilation album and they included Chinese language versions of their hit singles which are “Tell Me,” “So Hot,” and “Nobody.” Unfortunately, the group officially announced that they would disband in January 2017 because the negotiation of the contract renewal of some members was unsuccessful.
Then, after their 10-year-long run, their career as a group came to an end on February 10th, 2017. It was their last show and a celebration of their 10th-anniversary, they released the last song which was “Draw Me.” Hopefully, all the members of Wonder Girls will succeed in the future.
