Zhang Yixing’s Concert
Zhang Yixing announced his first concert Grand Line: The First Concert on May 24th, 2019. The concert was held in five cities, which are Shanghai, Chongqing, Nanjing, and Beijing in China; and Bangkok in Thailand. The tickets for the concert in Shanghai had sold out in eight seconds, while in Nanjing the tickets sold out in twenty-five seconds. The concert on August 17th, 2019 in Hong Kong was canceled due to the anti-government protest in the city.

About Zhang Yixing’s Studio
On April 8th, 2015, SM Entertainment announced that Zhang Yixing has established a personal studio in China. This was SM Entertainment’s first time relaxing their policies and helping a Chinese artist to establish his own personal studio. At the same time, SM Entertainment had given Zhang Yixing the right to manage his own film, entertainment, business, etc., opportunities in China. SM Entertainment would not interfere with any of his work arrangements in China and is also giving Zhang Yixing its full support for his development in China.
Zhang Yixing has become the first Chinese artist to receive SM Entertainment’s trust and affirmation while attaining permission to develop individually in China. It was one of SM Entertainment’s key strategic points: targeting the Chinese market. The studio would operate within the framework of an exclusive agreement between Zhang Yixing and SM Entertainment. The method of the “Studio” will bring huge results in terms of Chinese business as well as joint agreements.
SM Entertainment has also stated, for being able to break the norms, it was also because Zhang Yixing used his sincerity and honesty to win the trust of the company. SM Entertainment hoped that through the establishment of Zhang Yixing’s personal studio, this will help set up the foundation for future artists’ needs to have the spirit of abiding by their contract. Zhang Yixing also expressed that he was willing to use his own resources and influence in China to help SM Entertainment, to facilitate the company’s growth as well as to promote Chinese-Korean Cultural Exchange and Development.
Zhang Yixing’s Huawei CF
Zhang Yixing has been the spokesperson for Huawei Nova phone series since October 2016. He has been a great spokesperson as he and his studio always post everything on Weibo via their Huawei Nova phones. He also used the Nova phone every time he was seen in front of the camera or public. He also carefully distanced himself from other competitors, despite the fact that a competitor phone company was the main sponsor of his popular variety show Go Fighting!
On June 17th, 2018, Huawei announced that Zhang Yixing had become the first partner of Huawei Nova and their friendship has formed for three years. However, Zhang Yixing and his studio didn’t repost or comment on the good news. Moreover, Huawei and Huawei’s director reposted interesting comments on the original ‘becoming partner’ post, apparently from different users but with the same message. Fans thought that the post was a setup.
On June 24th, 2018, Huawei announced a different Chinese artist as the newest Nova phone, Huawei Nova 3’s new ambassador. Zhang Yixing’s fans were upset that there was a new spokesperson. He has never been the solo Huawei Nova spokesperson, Chinese actress Guan Xiaotong has been endorsing Huawei Nova along with Yixing all the time. However, it is interesting that Huawei’s official Weibo no longer follows Zhang Yixing, but sill follows fellow Nova spokesperson Guan Xiaotong. Yixing’s fans want Huawei to make a clarification regarding Yixing’s involvement in the brand. They said that Yixing can put his loyalty elsewhere where his loyalty and commitment are respected.

Zhang Yixing’s Family Members and Harassment Incident

The post translated: “Believe in the country, oppose violence, hope for peace in Hong Kong, China.” The words on the image translated: “I support Hong Kong police, fight me/you can fight me.” He expressed his support for the city’s authorities.
However, Zhang Yixing’s mother claimed that their family members have been threatened and their private details published online. A report by Hong Kong-based Orange News said that Zhang Yixing’s family members’ private information had been disclosed by some people on social media. The report also said that Zhang Yixing’s ID had been used to register for organ donation. Although there were no details about who was responsible for the alleged harassment, the Orange News said that Zhang Yixing’s family had been targeted because of his support for the Hong Kong police, who have been heavily criticized by anti-government protesters for their tactics.
Some fans expressed support for Zhang Yixing and his mother in the comments under his mother’s Weibo post. But some of his critics also posted on his social media accounts. Some fans are expressing disappointment that he is defending the Hong Kong police who, incidentally, are being accused of police brutality. Fans believe that as a celebrity, he has the power to use his influence for the good.
