Busking-like Wedding Ceremony
After the proposal, Eric Nam asked Solar about what would they do about their wedding. Surprisingly, she said that they should have the wedding in that afternoon, which left him looking a little shocked and confused. In the end, he agreed with her and they decided to hold their wedding in the afternoon.
Eric Nam and Mamamoo’s Solar planned the wedding reception. She said that she wanted them to sing for each other casually, and they should each decide their song on their own. They made the arrangements for the ceremony and took cute pictures of each other and printed them out in their hand-made wedding invitations. For their first collaboration, they decided to sing Diana Ross and Lionel Richie’s ‘Endless Love’ and spent some time practicing before the real performance.
Three hours before the wedding ceremony, the happy couple went to choose the wedding dress. She picked three dresses to try on. The first dress was a short one, the second dress was a long gown with short sleeves, and the last dress was an off-the-shoulder style with long sleeves. The couple finally settled on the second dress, feeling it fitted their personalities better, and it was the one Solar liked the best. After that, Eric Nam wore a plaid suit and polka dot bow tie to match with the dress. They took a picture together before they left the wedding boutique.
An hour and a half before the ceremony, Eric Nam and Solar took their wedding photos by themselves. They tried a lot of the typical poses for wedding pictures, and all of their pictures turned out really well, like pictures taken by a professional photographer.
A few minutes before they were going to get started, Eric Nam and Mamamoo’s Solar set up their wedding ceremony on the sidewalk. The concept of their wedding was similar to busking. The guests at their wedding ceremony were the passersby. They started the ceremony by introducing themselves. They asked their guests to come closer, because they thought they’d feel awkward if no one was in front of them.
Eric Nam serenadeed Mamamoo’s Solar. He chose‘Lucky’ by Jason Mraz as his song. Mamamoo’s Solar looked pleased, but embarrassed when he hold her hand as he did what the lyrics said. At the end of his performance, he said that he was really lucky because he was getting married to his best friend and held her hand.
Then it was Mamamoo’s Solar’s turn to sing. She sang Elvis Presley’s ‘Love Me Tender’ and played a guitar. In her interview, she revealed that she had practiced the song she was going to sing for Eric Nam for a while beforehand, and decided to sing it at their wedding. In his interview, Eric Nam said that she looked different when she sang. She looked so beautiful and cool, and he loved it.
After they sang for each other, they read each other letters that had their wedding vows. They had secretly written the letters to each other before the ceremony. Eric Nam read his letter first, and in it, he promised that he would do his best to be a great husband for her and he thanked her for marrying him. Mamamoo’s Solar was obviously moved and smiled at him, then she read her letter to him. In her letter, she also promised that she would be the best wife for him. Eric Nam was touched after hearing her letter. After that, they exchanged rings.
Finally, it was time for the finale, their first collaboration. They sang Diana Ross and Lionel Richie’s ‘Endless Love’, as planned. They were singing sincerely, and gave a really touching performance. All the ‘guests’ cheered after they finished their song.
Eric Nam and Mamamoo’s Solar were holding hands and laughing. They shouted that they were married, and the guests applauded and gave their congratulations. The newlyweds thanked the guests for being there and the wedding ceremony was over.
