DMTN’s Debut Era
Dalmatian (Hangul: 달마시안) is a South Korean idol group created and managed by MC Mong under Monkey Punch Entertainment. The original lineup consisted of Inati, Day Day, Donglim, Jeesu, Dari, and Daniel.
Dalmatian released a 30-second music video teaser of its debut digital single “Round 1” on August 15, 2010, followed by a full song and video release on September 1, 2010, with its debut mini album Dalmatian featuring various hip hop songs and sentimental ballads. The group made its debut appearance the following day on Mnet’s music program M!Countdown.
Formed as a boy group consisting of 6 members, Inati, Day Day, Dari, Jeesu, Daniel, and Donglim, they signed a contract with IS Entermedia Group. The members were trainees for an average of five years. A representative for Monkey Punch stated, “The footprints left by the boys in the teaser represent the footprints of Dalmatians. This means that Dalmatians will enter the world of music and leave their mark.”
Written by MC Mong and Jo Yeong-su, Dalmatian released their debut single “Round 1” on September 1, 2010. Dalmatiam performed their first music show on Mnet’s M!Countdown the next day after their music video was released. Dalmatian promoted the group for two weeks before quietly halting activities during its debut era while being a rookie in the K-pop music industry.
DMTN’s Stage Performance
Like other K-pop boy groups, DMTN also got the opportunity to perform on stage. Let’s see DMTN’s stage performances below!
On June 9, 2012, Dalmatian held a comeback stage with their newest song “E.R” which was broadcasted on MBC’s Music Core. In this performance, Dalmatian looked more masculine with the formation of new members and also looked very maximal in displaying the talents of the members with fantastic rapping and vocal abilities. They also wore costumes that showed the members’ bodies that look muscular and manly.
On February 16, 2013, Dalmatian returned with a new group name, DMTN, and made its comeback with “Safety Zone” as its new song that was aired on MBC’s Music Core. As you can see from the stage performance above, DMTN did a live performance and showed off their voices clearly and perfectly. The fans also shouted a very loud fan chant to cheer up the performance as well.
On July 19, 2012, Dalmatian held a comeback stage by performing one of their singles, “Drive,” which was broadcasted on Mnet’s M!Countdown. The five members looked energetic by performing choreography with a medium-tempo song while wearing casual outfits showing each member’s boyfriend-material side!
