Kangho’s Debut with Coed School
Coed School (Co-ed School) is a group that was formed by a South Korean music label named Core Contents Media in 2010. This group consisted of 4 female members, which are Soomi, Hyewon, Hyoyoung, and Chanmi, and 6 male members namely Taewoon, Sungmin, Jungwoo, Kwanghaeng, Noori, and Kangho.
Kangho and his group debuted with the single “Too Late”, then three weeks later, they released their 2nd single “Bbiribbom Bberibbom” (삐리뽐 빼리뽐). That single was released on October 19th, 2020, then Kangho and the group did their first performance of “Bbiribbom Bberibbom” (삐리뽐 빼리뽐) in Mnet’s M! Countdown! Even though his group can be said to be an “underrated group,” the single managed to reach the 61st position on the Gaon music chart.
At that time, none of the fans had his fancam or record when he was performing on the stage. However, there are several videos of Kangho appearing with his group to promote their new song. Here are the video performances of him and the group!
Active as a SPEED Member
SPEED is the male subunit of the group Coed School formed by MBK Entertainment (formerly known as Core Contents Media). This group formed and debuted in 2012 with the release of “Lovey-Dovey Plus”, and in 2013, the group changed to an independent group instead of being a subunit.
But before the group debuted, on November 4th, 2011, it was announced that Kangho had left the group because he wanted to focus on acting and then his position in the group was replaced by Shin Jongkook. Kangho left the group before the subunits (SPEED and F-ve Dolls) announced their official lineups.
Because Kangho didn’t debut with SPEED, there aren’t any videos of him doing group activities.
Coed School’s Disbandment and Kangho’s Future Activity
Coed School were indeed an underrated group, and they disbanded in 2013. Kangho’s career with Coed School was very short. One of the reasons for the disbandment of this group was the alleged sexual harassment committed by Kangho (Cha Joo Hyuk). Reportedly, he had sexually assaulted his schoolmate, and he was even sentenced to 18 months.
Instead of wanting to focus on acting, it turns out that in 2016, he was actually involved in a drug abuse case. He was found guilty of consuming marijuana and smuggling illegal drugs of the “ketamine” type.
After deciding to take a break from singing, Kangho then changed his name to Cha Joo Hyuk for his career as an actor. Because he wanted to focus on acting, Kangho hasn’t released any singles or songs as a solo singer. Therefore, here are the songs and singles from him and the group!
