CNBLUE’s Yonghwa and Jonghyun: We Got Married

Variety shows play a significant part in increasing the popularity of celebrities, including CNBlue’s vocalist Jung Yonghwa and guitarist Lee Jonghyun. Besides working musically to create a song, performing on stage, or doing interviews with magazine and news outlets, Yonghwa and Jonghyun have also joined several variety shows in order to boost their reputation. One of the famous variety shows both Yonghwa and Jonghyun have participated in is MBC’s We Got Married, a program which allows male and female celebrities, be it idol group members, actors, comedians, or TV personas, to be in a virtual marriage for a certain period of time. Thus, in this article, Channel-Korea will give you all the information regarding CNBLUE member Yonghwa’s relationship with his WGM partner Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun and CNBLUE member Jonghyun’s relationship with actress Gong Seung-yeon. So, stay tuned!

Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun and CNBLUE’s Yonghwa Relationship

CNBLUE’s Yonghwa and SNSD’s Seohyun officially began their virtual romance on MBC’s We Got Married on 27 February 2010. Although their first interaction was quite awkward, Yonghwa and Seohyun, whose couple nicknames are ‘YongSeo’ and goguma couple (goguma means sweet potato) successfully developed their intimate relationship  as the time went on. Besides appearing on WGM, Yonghwa and Seohyun also occasionally became the MCs of MBC’s music program Music Core, and sung a duet on the stage to perform Banmal (means informal speech), which is a song they composed themselves.

During the period of their virtual marriage, Yonghwa and Seohyun ended up with hardcore shippers (people who want fiction characters or real people to have a certain relationship) because they think that Yonghwa and Seohyun are a match made in heaven. Sadly, Yonghwa and Seohyun’s appearance on We Got Married met its end on 14 March 2011 due to their busy schedules, hence the completion of their on-screen relationship. As expected, the shippers of YongSeo are sad as well about their pairings’ farewell. However, they still cheer on both Yonghwa and Seohyun for their personal activities.

Latest News About CNBLUE’s Yonghwa and Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun

Even though their on-screen marriage ended a long time ago, CNBLUE’s Yonghwa and Girls Generation’s  Seohyun are still linked to each other in some rumors. In April 2013, news outlets released information about Yonghwa and Seohyun, who apparently live in the same residence in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul.

Specifically, Yonghwa lives with other CNBLUE members on the first floor, while Seohyun lives with her family on the fourth floor. When he was being asked about the report, Yonghwa confirmed that both of he and Seohyun indeed live in the same complex, but rejected the rumor of being in a relationship with Seohyun. He clarified the rumor which stated that he entered Seohyun’s car, because it turned out that his and Seohyun’s license plate numbers are similar, so people may be mistaking his car for Seohyun’s.

Two months previously on 1 February 2013, Yonghwa and Seohyun interacted on KBS’s Music Bank when CNBLUE won first place for their song I’m Sorry. While giving his winning speech, Yonghwa received a doll from Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany, who detached it from Seohyun’s belt and raised it while expressing her love to BOICE (the name of CNBLUE fan club). After finishing his speech, Yonghwa asked Girls’ Generation’s Yoona about the doll, and spoke to Seohyun a little bit who patted Yonghwa’s shoulder while congratulating him and other CNBLUE members for their first place win.

Four years later, Yonghwa and Seohyun are reunited as the MC of the Golden Disk Awards 2017 on 13 January, along with singer Hwang Chi Yeol. Many people are happy about Yonghwa and Seohyun seeing each other again, saying that they miss the couple’s virtual romance. Aww, don’t you agree that Yonghwa and Seohyun are adored by both the public and fans, dear readers?
