Kim Hyung-jun’s Filmography
2011 is the year of Kim Hyun-jung’s acting era. In October 2011, Kim made his theater debut in the romantic comedy musical Caffeine, where he played as a barista. After his acting debut in Black City, Kim scored his first main lead role on KBS’s romantic comedy series, My Shining Girl in March. He played the character of Kang-Min, a top star in the Korean entertainment business who is a bit temperamental; charming but rude and who attempts to transform from a singer into an actor. His acting career was followed by SBS Plus’s Late Blossom in the same year. The drama was based on a popular comic by Kang Full that had already been turned into a movie, which told the love story between two elderly people, and was SBS Plus’s first feature-length drama to be produced in-house. Kim played the character Jung Min-chae, a smart public service officer.
In November, he was cast in “Rough Play (An Actor is an Actor)” with Lee Joon, a film written and produced by Kim Ki-duk. When December came, he became active in attending several award shows and music festivals, including the 2012 Thailand Korea Friendship Festival and 2012 Malaysia Model Festival Awards where he met the world famous designer Jimmy Choo. He also received his first award at the 2012 K-Drama Star Awards, where he was given the Rising Star Award for “Late Blossom drama”. SS301‘s youngest member Kim Hyung Jun was spotted giving his fans a farewell last April 6 for his mandatory military service.
“I enlisted at the age of 31. I think I must do well no matter what,” the idol said. Similar to others who have enlisted, the SS301 member will undergo basic military training for four weeks. He also will join JYJ‘s Junsu at the promotion unit of Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency.
But before heading off to fulfill the military duty, Hyung-jun gifted his fans with the release of his repackaged mini album ‘AM to PM 7-5-11-3’.
The repackaged album consists of three songs from his March release “AM to PM 5-11-3” and his newest track 7 o’clock. A music film teaser video for the said release was uploaded onto his agency’s YouTube channel last March 20.
The other members from sub group SS301, Kim Kyu-jong and Heo Young-saeng were seen sending off their youngest member. The idol was seen getting emotional as he hugged his mother and bade his members goodbye.
