Meet Cho-rong, the leader of one of the most popular girl groups, Apink. As the leader, Cho-rong is famous as the charismatic leader of the famous girl group. She led the group in the renewal of their contract together and their most recent comeback. In early 2019, Apink made a comeback with the song “%% (Eung Eung).” Right after the group’s music video was released, Cho-rong’s appearance became a hot topic of discussion among the online community. Comeback with “%% (Eung Eung)”
After Apink’s previous comeback in 2018, with the song “I’m so Sick,” in 2019, Apink made another comeback again, on January 7th, 2019, with the release of their mini-album % (PERCENT), that contains 6 songs, namely “%% (Eung Eung),” “Hug Me,” “What are You Doing?” “Push & Pull,” “Enough,” and “Memories.” Unlike their previous comeback with a cute concept, the title song “%% (Eung Eung),” is using a cute grown woman concept. The song itself is produced by the famous producer Black Eyed Pilseung who has previously written some of Apink’s songs, such as “Only One” and “I’m So Sick.” Here’s the streaming link for their mini-album.
“%% (Eung Eung)” is using mystical and bold electronic melodies, and bold and confident lyrics. The title, “%%,” is from the Hangul 응응 that means “okay” or “uh huh”. This title is related to the lyrics that tell the story of a strong woman who embraces her loneliness rather than being with the wrong man. The lyrics also tell about a woman’s courage to find the right man. Cho-rong participated in the writing of the song “Enough” which is using pop-funky melodies.
At the comeback’s press conference, Cho-rong gave an explanation about the title of the song.
“In the past, we were going with an innocent and lovely concept, but, in the future, we’re planning to use more charismatic and mature concepts. It’s still within Apink’s purview to use a charismatic concept in a girly and angelic way,” said Cho-rong. She also said that the album title tells about Apink’s limitless possibilities.

Cho-rong in the Music Video of “%% (Eung Eung)”
The music video for “%% (Eung Eung)” was released on January 7th, 2019. it is directed by Tiger Cave, a famous music video director who has already directed many K-Pop music videos. The music video’s story tells about Apink, who have had enough of men and show their way of asking men to stop. Some props in the music video, such as the pink gun and the glittering heart, have the purpose of showing the viewers that they can endure loneliness and that they don’t need a man.

Cho-rong’s Performances in Music Shows
Right after the song was released, Apink made a stage comeback in some music shows. Because of their powerful concept, Apink were able to get their first win in the SBS music show Show Champion and Mnet’s M Countdown. Here are some of Cho-rong’s performances focused.
Cho-rong’s Stage Outfit
In this comeback, Apink members are wearing 80s inspired outfits and make-up. In the music video, their styling and outfit are using an 80s theme that is combined with futuristic style by wearing latex skirts and more details on the outfit.
In Cho-rong’s appearances on-stage in music shows, we can see her wearing outfits that are covered with glitter which match very well with her pink hair. In the photo from her performance in MBC’s Music Show, Cho-rong is captured by the camera wearing a pink shiny skirt and a white shirt. To accessorize her look she is wearing a sparkly necklace and star earrings that emphasize her girly side.
During the same show, she also appears wearing a pink skirt combined with a black mesh top. To complete her look, she is wearing silver bracelets on both of her wrists to give a more shining appearance on the camera.
