Out of an initial 101 trainees representing various agencies, the final 11 were chosen by audience voting and announced on a live television broadcast. In the final episode, the show announced the final 11 members who would debut as Wanna One. More than 16 million people cast their votes during the finale, equivalent to around 30% of South Korea’s population.

Ha Sung-woon initially debuted as the main vocalist of Hotshot in 2014. Then, in 2017, he and his group-mate in Hotshot, Noh Tae-hyun, decided to join ‘Produce 101 season 2.’ Of the two of them, only Ha Sung-woon managed to debut with Wanna One. He officially debuted with the new group during the Wanna One Premier Show-Con on August 7, 2017, at the Gocheok Sky Dome, with a 1 × 1 mini-album (To Be One).

Close since they were on ‘Produce 101 season 2,’ the interaction between Yoon Jisung and Ha Sung-woon began to be seen when they were both on the same team during the position evaluation round, and they entered the vocal team that performed a song their seniors of the previous season, IOI, ‘Downpour.’

In this team, Yoon Jisung led the team well, and, of course, also became a good leader for Wanna One.

In Wanna One’s fourth V Live, ‘2017 Wanna One Teamwork-Building Championships,’ their first V Live since the group’s official debut,  they were required to choose a rope that will connect them with the members to play together. At the time, Ha Sung-woon was paired with their leader, Yoon Jisung. They then played a game which required Ha Sung-woon to put nail polish on Yoon Jisung’s nails. It was adorable to watch.

In a behind the scenes clip for Wanna One’s fan meeting, they parodied the characters in the film ‘Frozen’. Ha Sung-woon became Elsa, and Yoon Jisung became his prince. On that clip, the very funny thing was when Ha Sung-woon dressed elegantly, like Elsa’s daughter in the film ‘Frozen’, but he acted macho, like a man. He was constantly joking with Jisung and behaving macho, contrary to his feminine appearance.

As well as Jisung, Ha Sung-woon also began to get close to Hwang Min-hyun, since they both joined ‘Produce 101 season 2’ and were both on the vocal team ‘Downpour’ during the evaluation position.

they only have an age gap of one year, making it easier to be close. They are also known to have been in a dormitory together.

On episode 156 of the JTBC’s ‘Knowing Brothers’ program, when it was Min-hyun’s turn to ask the question, Min-hyun revealed, “since we have many members, our manager bought the same toothbrush in a different color. to distinguish our toothbrush, he told Sung-woon that Sung-woon’s toothbrush is the red one, and mine’s the gray one, but a couple of days later, I went to the bathroom in the morning and my toothbrush was wet. I definitely let him know about the color of his toothbrush, so I think maybe Sung-woon must’ve dropped and washed it. so I just used it. Next day, it was wet again. so after used it, I went asked Sung-woon, “you haven’t used the gray one, have you? “and then Sung-woon answered,” Isn’t that mine?” Min-hyun then continued that he even used that toothbrush to clean his tongue and Sung-woon also does that.” To sum up, these two shared a toothbrush for two days.

On one of their V lives, on January 12, 2019, Ha Sung-woon and Hwang Min-hyun did the V Live together. Both of them did V Live to greet their fans, ‘wannable’. both talked about some of their activities lately, and also said they rested well.

In this V Live, they also had time to sing a piece of the song ‘Downpour’, and tell about some of their experiences while still in ‘Produce 101 Season 2’. Min-hyun also confessed that, from the start of the show, he was already very fond of Ha Sung-woon’s voice, he even wanted to vote for Ha Sung-woon if he had the opportunity to choose members during a group evaluation. But, unfortunately, even though Min-hyun had the chance to choose members, Ha Sung-woon was chosen by Lee Dae-hwi first, so Min-hyun chose Kim Jae-hwan, instead.

In addition to ‘Downpour’, they also sang a number of other songs, and also gave some recommendations for the songs they liked.

As ‘Produce 101 Season 2’ went on, Ha Sung-woon and Ong Seung-woo became close after both being assigned Class A on the individual evaluations during the first episode, and getting back to A during re-evaluation after undergoing training. They both received the ‘Royal A’ since then, because of their excellent singing and dancing.

In an interview that was held before Ha Sung-woon and Ong Seung-woo went to the forest to follow the ‘Law of the Jungle,’ Ong Seung-woo admitted that he was a clumsy person, and made many mistakes.

Ha Sung-woon and Ong Seung-woo even did diving training to prepare to go to the forest/ They seemed to enjoy it very much, and they danced their dance song, ‘Energetic’, in the water.

In one episode of ‘Law of the Jungle Sabah’, Ha Sung-woon and Ong Seung-woo were fishing to get something to eat.

At that time, they both were silent while fishing and the staff asked if there was a song from Wanna One that was suitable to describe their current condition. Then Ha Sung-woon answered “There is a song. when a mosquito buzzes by your ear,” and then, together with Ong Seung-woo, sang their song ‘Boomerang.’

The first person who managed to catch a fish was Ong Seung-woo, while Ha Sung-woon kept losing his bait and wasn’t catching anything. When Ha Sung-woon felt he was getting something through his fishing rod, he got excited. But ,it turned out that he got only a tree branch and he was very disappointed.

Ha Sung-woon with Kim Jae-hwan

Kim Jae-hwan and Ha Sung-woon, are both main vocalists in the group. Since they were both already famous for their voices in ‘Produce 101 season 2’, and the position evaluation had them the same group, which was ‘Downpour,’ they had a chance to fight over the ‘main vocal’ position for the song, although the one who became the main vocal was Jae -hwan. According to Sung-woon, Jae-hwan has more powerful vocals than him.

But, Sung-woon’s appearance succeeded attracting attention even though he was not the main vocal. His performance still managed to captivate the hearts of the ‘national producers’, which is evidenced by the fact that his ranking slowly began to rise after that, and ended up debuting with the group.

On a variety show in South Korea, Kim Jae-hwan and Ha Sung-woon were asked to play a game where both of them would sing a note alternately, with the note getting higher and higher. The point was to see which of them could reach the highest note. starting from the lowest note they could, they slowly went up until they reached a very high note.

They’re both able to reach very high notes, so that the people around them are able to hear from a distance. It was nice to see them be competitive to reach their highest notes.

At the Mnet’s year-end awards ceremony, MAMA 2018, Kim Jae-hwan and Ha Sung-woon, along with MAMAMOO’s Solar and Wheein, and MONSTA X’s Jooheon, collaborated to bring their senior’s song, BIGBANG’s Taeyang’s, ‘Eyes, Nose, Lips. ‘ It was an honor for them to participate together in this song, considering this is their senior’s song and was a huge hit when it was released.

Their appearance once again proved that the vocal abilities of both Kim Jae-hwan and Han Sung-woom are extraordinary, and have developed tremendously from the time they were competing on ‘Produce 101’.
