2019 Awards

  • 26th Billboard Music Award

They made their third consecutive win for Top Social Artist against EXO, GOT7, Ariana Grande, and Louis Tomlinson. They also made another win for another category Top Duo/Group against Imagine Dragons (who won last year), Maroon 5, Dan + Shay, and Panic! At The Disco.

They also made their first “Boy With Luv” live performance with Halsey.

  • 3rd BraVo Music Award

It is a ceremony for international professional music that is held in Russia with the participation of the ambassadors of many countries. BTS was nominated and won Group of the Year.

  • 28th Gaffa-Prisen Award

It is an annual Danish award ceremony held by the Danish music magazine Gaffa. BTS won Best International Band and was nominated for Best New International Name. Meanwhile, their album Love Yourself: Answer won Best International Album.

  • 33rd Japan Gold Disk Awards

This time BTS was nominated and won more than one award. The group itself won Best Asian Artist, while their album Face Yourself won Album of the Year (Asia) and Best 3 Albums (Asia), their another album Love Yourself: Answer also won Best 3 Albums (Asia), and their concert video 2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour (Special Edition at Kyocera Dome) won Best Music Videos (Asia).

  • 14th Myx Music Awards

This ceremony award is held annually by channel Myx in the Philippines. BTS’ single “Fake Love” won the International Video of the Year.

  • 6th iHeart Radio Music Awards

This time BTS’ fandom ARMYs made their second win for Best Fan Army.

  • 14th Radio Disney Music Awards

This time BTS won Global Phenom, the newly made award dedicated to them as they have made a global influence around the world through their music, dance, and fashion.

  • Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards

This year, BTS is nominated for Favorite International Artist or Group and Best Fandom in Mexico but it has not been decided about the winners yet. The voting period is divided into pre-nomination (until July 17th) and final (July 17th – August 16th).

  • 6th MTV Millennial Awards

This time BTS is nominated for K-Pop Explosion and Fandom of the Year. Jungkook himself is nominated for Instagrammer Global. The ceremony itself has not been held yet and the voting period is due June 23rd.

  • 2nd MTV Millennial Awards Brazil

BTS is again nominated in the same categories as last year’s ceremony, K-Pop Explosion, and Fandom of the Year but the winners have not been decided yet as the ceremony hasn’t been held. The voting period will be ended on June 23rd.

  • 21st Teen Choice Awards

BTS is nominated for the same category as the previous two years before Choice International Artist against Blackpink, EXO, NCT 127, CNCO, and Little Mix. Meanwhile, their song featuring Halsey, “Boy With Luv,” is nominated for Choice Collaboration. The voting period is still ongoing until June 25th.

Attending the 2018 United Nations’ General Assembly

On October 31st, 2017, BTS joined the Korean Committee for UNICEF to make a fundraising campaign called Love Myself which was suitable for UNICEF’s global #ENDviolence against youth campaign. The fundraising was a success and received a lot of positive feedback.

On September 24th, 2018, BTS attended the UN’s General Assembly to launch the Generation Unlimited campaign along with UNICEF. They became the first-ever K-Pop group to attend the event. RM, on behalf of the group, made a nearly six-and-half-minute speech about self-acceptance and to “voice yourself.” Let’s listen to his full speech below!

TIME Magazine’s Cover

BTS had been chosen as one of the Next Generation Leaders by TIME. They also became the first K-Pop group to appear on the cover of TIME Magazine, on October 22nd, 2018.
