There were various reactions from fans upon seeing the redness on Jungkook’s neck. Some fans worried that rumors would begin about BTS’ Jungkook dating, while others were more relaxed and ignoring the circulated rumors.
Most of Jungkook’s fans and ARMY believed that the ‘hickey’ was because of his fellow members, either BTS’ V or Jimin. Some fans jokingly said that the hickey was probably because of V. Fans knew that Jungkook and V were close and often seen together. Many fans even shipped BTS’ Jungkook and V to become a couple. This theory picked up steam when V was also seen with a ‘hickey’ on his neck. Fans said that Jungkook and V gave each other hickies. Here are some pictures of BTS’ Jungkook and V’s ‘hickies’:
Some other fans denied that the bruise was a hickey. They said that Jungkook’s skin was sensitive and the red things on his neck could be bruises, bug bites, itches, or swelling. Some fans thought that it could have been from stress, as stress can cause a rash, red spots, or hives on the stomach, back, arms, and face. Some fans convinced the others that the redness was from stress, as they also had red spots every time they were stressed. Moreover, it was not the first time that Jungkook has had redness like that on his neck. BTS has a lot of activities, and many of them are located overseas; lack of rest might stress him out.
Other fans thought that the hickey was artificial and someone edited the picture to make it look like Jungkook had one. They argued that fans always used filters or brightened pictures, which made the redness look more vibrant than it really was. Even if the hickey was real, many fans didn’t think that Jungkook would be reckless enough to have one on his neck, where it was visible to everyone and could cause a scandal.
