Meet The Goblin and The Grim Reaper in Real Life
The Korean drama Goblin starring Gong Yoo and Kim Go-Eun remains one of the most phenomenal Korean dramas. Besides the love story, the friendship between Goblin or Kim Shin, starred by Gong Yoo, and Grim Reaper, starred by Lee Dong-Wook, became one of the audiences’ favorites. However, the special friendship between them has been ongoing for a long time.
Apparently, the meeting of Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-Wook in the Korean drama Goblin was not their first meeting, but their first meeting was during mandatory military service. Therefore, they naturally had very strong chemistry. During the drama’s press conference, they revealed that Lee Dong-Wook is Gong Yoo’s successor in the military, and they both had two months of military life together before Gong Yoo finished his service.
“Because the one that starred as Goblin is Gong Yoo hyung, I’m very happy,” Lee Dong-Wook said. He also revealed that they have been going to the same salon all this time.
“I have always thought he was an amazing guy while we were in the military together, but I came to think that he is an even better person as we worked together for the Goblin drama,” Gong Yoo said at the press conference in April 2017, as reported by Korea Portal.
Their public skinship began when Lee Dong-Wook reached out his hand to Gong Yoo to escort him to the stage at the Goblin press conference in October 2016.
On April 28, 2017, at the press conference in Taiwan which included the entire cast of Goblin, Gong Yoo expressed his admiration towards Lee Dong-Wook. During the press conference, he stated that he and Lee Dong-Wook have remained good friends through the years.
Moreover, Gong Yoo talked about Lee Dong-Wook and complimented him, “Lee Dong-Wook was a co-star who was especially very considerate. He’s a friend who has been acting for a long time so it was very comfortable.” Gong Yoo admitted that he misses Lee Dong-Wook and the other cast of Goblin, “I’m not able to keep in contact with them right now because everyone is so busy, but I miss them,” as reported by Allkpop.
