In order to strengthen their career and raise their group popularity, each of the members started solo activities, including Sungjae who started an acting career. 1. Yook Sungjae in “Monstar”

Yook Sungjae’s acting debut was in the drama “Monstar”. He acted as part of the supporting cast. Sungjae acted as Arnold, one of the Men In Black members, and appeared in episodes 2, 6, 9, and 12.
2. Yook Sungjae in “The Heirs”

In the SBS TV series “The Heirs”, Sungjae made a cameo in an episode.
3. Yook Sungjae in “Reply 1994”

In 2014, Yook Sungjae also appeared in “Rely 1994” as a young Sung-joon.
4. Yook Sungjae in “Plus Nine Boys”

After taking some roles in dramas, Yook Sungjae finally got the chance to become part of the main cast of tvN’s TV series “Plus Nine Boys”. Sungjae played Kang Min-goo. He took the role of a 19 year old high school student who is a judo athlete. Yook Sungjae successfully played the role of a hot-tempered guy who has a big dreams to get a judo scholarship. He met a cute but mysterious girl along the way.
5. Yook Sungjae in “Who Are You: School 2015”

Yook Sungjae gained a lot of praise for his good acting in “Who Are You: School 2015”. He played the role of Gong Tae-kwang. The high schooler was portrayed as a happy-go-lucky person. He caused trouble everywhere to hide his inner pain. Sungjae’s chemistry with actress Kim So-hyun earned them The Best Couple Award in KBS’s Drama Awards in 2015.
6. Yook Sungjae in “The Village: Achiara’s Secret”

Playing the role of a very enthusiastic police officer, who is also the son of a crime boss, Yook Sungjae captured many hearts with his acting skill as Park Woo-jae. Showing his hard work and persistence in solving serial murders cases and other mysteries, Sungjae won the “New Star Award” in SBS’s Drama Awards in 2015.
7. Yook Sungjae in “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God”

“Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” is Sungjae’s most recent drama. His acting and amusing relationship with his co-actors, Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook gained him much praise. Sungjae was also praised for being able to keep up with those two senior actors. Through “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God”, Sungjae brought home three awards in 2017: a “Rising Star Award”, a “Best New Actor Award”, and a “Star of the Year Award”.
