B1A4’s CNU Reveals the Struggle with Long Hair
In mid-February, 2019, CNU finally spoke up about his struggle in taking care of his old long hair. Through his appearance on MBC Every1’s Video Star, CNU was asked by one of the hosts, Sandara Park, about the long hair that helped B1A4 stand out and the stress that his long hair has caused. The idol answered that besides having long hair, he also had to wear glasses during the first few years of B1A4, which made him quite uncomfortable because he had to dance on stage. Once his glasses even flew off when he was dancing with so much force on stage.
The other hosts joined the discussion, saying that the length of CNU’s long hair was similar to the length of Kim Sook’s current hair. MC Park So Hyun commented, “To be honest, CNU was a lot prettier than Kim Sook. It was really new at the time.”
Not did it cause difficulties while he was performing, but CNU’s long hair also caused unnecessary pain, “One day, I was walking on the streets of Japan and fans gathered around me. However, a man grabbed the back of my hair and pulled me. I think he was a drunk man and not a fan. I used to use a lot of bobby pins. When I returned home, there would be bobby pins in my hair that had been keeping it in place. I would take each one out and tell myself, ‘You worked hard again today.’ But it was nice that the group was more widely known through that.”
