April’s Naeun’s Pre-debut Story

Since a young age, Naeun liked singing and dancing on stage and dreamed of becoming a celebrity. After receiving a blessing from her parents, she registered for JYP Entertainment’s public audition in 2014. At the time, she was just a junior high school student. She was ranked third at the audition and was contracted as JYP Entertainment’s trainee. As she grew up, she wanted to become an actress rather than an idol or singer. Lacking self-confidence, she thought that other trainees were more talented than her. She decided to quit from being a JYP Entertainment trainee. Following her long-time dream of becoming an actress, she decided to study acting by herself. She spent her post trainee days learning acting autodidactic. A casting agent found her and asked her to join DSP Media as their trainee. She trained for only four months before debuting as a member of  April. She was April’s last member.

Before debuting in DSP Media, Naeun joined JYP Entertainment as an idol trainee after passing on their 11th public audition in 2014. During her JYP trainee days, she participated in GOT7’s MV titled “Stop Stop It.” She was a part of JYP as a trainee for two years and eight months. She failed in becoming one of the contestants of Sixteen. Sixteen was JYP Entertainment’s and Mnet’s idol survival show that was aired in 2015.
