Kim Chang-wan is a South Korean rock singer, composer, musician, actor, TV host, radio DJ, writer, poet, music director, and movie score composer. He has appeared in supporting roles in several movies and dramas, notably in Happy Funeral Director (2000), MBC’s Beating Heart (2005), MBC’s Behind the White Tower (2007), MBC’s The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince (2007), MBC’s Queen of Housewives (2009), and SBS’s My Love from the Star (2013-2014). He also played the leading role of a psychopathic plastic surgeon in the 2012 slasher movie Doctor. His 1990 book I Want to Live Just Until 20 Years Old was adapted into a 1992 movie.

Kim Chang-wan’s wife’s name is Kang Gui-bin, who is a pediatrician. She graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine. Kim Chang-wan does not want to reveal his wife’s photos because they respect each other’s life.
Kim Chang-wan first met his wife Kang Gui-bin through a reading group, and they seemed to be attracted to each other’s intelligence and artistry. In fact, they were originally elementary school alumni. When they were dating, Kim Chang-wan always borrowed his wife’s books. At that time, his wife was a medical student so mainly the books he borrowed were medical books. Eventually, the books he borrowed were used as sleeping pillows rather than for reading.
