Lee Min-woo’s Career

Lee Min-woo was the fourth member to join Shinhwa. The boyband was on SM entertainment since 1998, and soon reached popularity. When their contract ended in 2003, they moved to Good Entertainment. During that transition, Min-woo began his solo activities. He was the first Shinhwa member to have any solo activities, and also the first South Korean idol to do so.

In 2006, he held his first solo concert in January. He also debuted for his acting career at that time. In 2007, Lee Min-woo set up his own agency, M Rising Entertainment. The purpose was to manage his solo career, since he continued to perform as Shinhwa under Good Entertainment.

In 2010, he did his military service, and he was the last Shinhwa member to do their military service. He had four weeks of basic training, then joined non-active duty as a public service officer at Seoul Station. He was discharged on 2 March 2012.

In July 2011, Eric Mun, Shinhwa’s leader, and Lee Min-woo as co-CEO, formed Shinhwa Company, a joint venture agency for Shinhwa to perform as a group.
