Do you know Nam Jeong-im? Nam Jeong-im is a senior actress in South Korea. She was born on July 21st, 1945, and died on September 2nd, 1992, because of breast cancer. She was often called one of the “Troika” along with rival actresses Yoon Jeong-hee and Moon Hee of the 1960’s and early 1970’s. She married Im Bang-kwang in 1971, but they were divorced in 1974. After that, she married again with No Seung-Ju in 1977. She has a child named Eun-mi Noh. Her parent is Kim Soon-Hee.
When she was alive, she played in many old movies such as Private Kim in 1969 as the main role, The Tragic History of Joseon Women in 1969 as So Yeon, A Woman’s Life in 1968, Full Ship in 1967 as Seul Seul Yi, and The Sword of Iljimae in 1966.
She also got a lot of achievements in her acting career. In 1966, Nam Jeong-im won the Special Award for New Actress at the 4th Blue Dragon Film Awards. In 1967, she won New Film Actress at the 3rd Baeksang Arts Awards. In 1967, she got an award for Favorite Actress at the 5th Blue Dragon Film Awards. Also, in 1967, she won an award for Favorite Actress at the 6th Blue Dragon Film Awards. Then, in 1969, she won Best Actress at the 6th Blue Dragon Film Awards. Lastly, in 1970, she got an award for Favorite Actress at the 7th Blue Dragon Film Awards.

As mentioned earlier, Nam Jeong-im died because she suffered from breast cancer. She died on September 2nd, 1992, at the age of 47. She left a child named Eun-mi Noh and a husband named No Seung-Ju. Maybe, many young fans of K-drama do not know her, but she was a popular actress in her era.
