When she wasn’t accepted as a news presenter, she turned to modelling and was chosen as the exclusive advertising model for Asiana Airlines. This gig was a gateway for her to the entertainment world, especially acting.
She made her acting debut in 2003, in the drama Escape from Unemployment (2003) as Cha Mi-rim. She also starred in People of the Water Flower Village (2004) with Song Il-gook and in the drama Save The Last Dance for Me (2004) in an antagonist role. Her first lead role was in the drama My Sweetheart, My Darling (2005), followed by Ballad of Seodong (2005) and a few dramas the years after, yet none of them struck the audience.
It was in 2012, when she played a career woman in My Daughter Seoyoung (2012), that she got the recognition she deserves. The drama was the biggest hit of her career yet.
