About Kim Nam-gil: Profile, Family, Marriage, Movies, TV Shows, Military, and Latest News

Kim Nam-gil’s Military Services

In the middle of filming “Bad Guy”, Kim Nam-gil received his draft notice for mandatory military service. Due to his unfinished filming contract, he tried to ask for deferment in order to wrap up the shoot for the series. Unfortunately his wish was not granted. He then shot as much as he could (his scenes were reduced, and a body double was also used). With just one day of rest after wrapping up filming, Kim Nam-gil began his military life on July 15, 2010.

Kim Nam-gil received four weeks of basic training at Nonsan, and served for two years as a public service worker. He assign to work in public services due to his recent injuries. He was reportedly suffering from hernia. Kim Nam-gil was also in a car accident in 2003, and suffered significant injuries including a ruptured ligament in his right knee.

Following his discharge from the army in 2012, Kim produced the film Ensemble, a music mockumentary about a group of classical musicians who form a group and take to the streets to perform outside their usual concert halls, showing their youthful passion in making music accessible.

Is Kim Nam-gil Married? Who is Kim Nam-gil’s Wife?

Until now Kim Nam-gil hasn’t been married yet. Although he would like to get married, he thinks women ought to think twice about marrying an actor, no matter how cute he is. He said that his future wife needs to consider it more, because, as he said, “Being married to an actor is a lonely life.”

That statement didn’t stop the dating rumors about him. In 2010, the public believed that he was dating SNSD’s Tiffany. But he denied the rumor by saying that both of them are in a close relationship as brother and sister. The public had such an assumption because Tiffany and few other SNSD members visited the set of SBS’s “Good Morning” a few times.

But the actual relationship that was caught by the public was when Kim Nam-gil was dating Son Ye-jin in 2014.  Apparently, the two went from acquaintances to lovers in July while they were filming the KBS drama “Shark” together.  Kim Nam-gil and Son Ye-jin were rumored to be dating due to their back-to-back projects for the drama “Shark” and film “Pirates.” While they saw each other naturally on the drama set, they also spent their spare time meeting up. They secretly had their dates in areas around their homes. They also had a date in Japan, after the two had wrapped up filming for their drama.

The relationship was never be confirmed by both agencies. Hence the continuation of their relationship has also never been known.
