Kim Joo-hyuk is South Korea actor who was born on October 1972. He began his career as an actor in the SBS Drama Letters Written on a Cloudy Day in 1998. His popularity rose when he played Choi Sang-hyun on the SBS Drama Lovers in Prague. Aside from dramas and movies, Kim is also well known for his variety sense. He was a cast member on the KBS2 variety show 2 Days & 1 Night – Season 3 for three years.

On October 30, 2017, Kim passed away due to a car accident.

Kim Joo-hyuk has starred in 13 dramas since his debut in 1998. Kim began his career as an actor on the SBS Drama Letters Written on a Cloudy Day in 1998. A year later, he was playing Jung Myung-hwan on the SBS Drama KAIST. In 2000, he appeared on two dramas, Tango in Seoul and he played Young-jae on Can Anyone Love?.

In 2005, he played Choi Sang-hyun in Lovers in Prague. It was a popular drama at that time. The plot is about the president’s daughter, Yoon Jae-hee (Jun Do-yeon) who is a Korean diplomat in Prague. She has only recently recovered from a devastating break up five years earlier with Ji Young-woo (Kim Min-joon), the son of a prominent Korean businessman. Choi Sang-hyun (Kim Joo-hyuk) is a detective who goes to Prague searching for his ex-girlfriend Hye-joo (Yoon Se-ah). Hye-joo broke up with Sang-hyun over the phone from Prague and Sang-hyun cannot accept it. Sang-hyun meets Jae-hee in Prague and misunderstandings abound. Eventually the two help each other and become friends. When they return to Korea, love blossoms, but their respective ex’s and very different social statuses put it to the test. Because of this drama, Kim got his first award as Top Excellence Award, Actor at SBS Drama Awards in 2005.

His latest drama was Argon in 2017. He played Kim Baek-jin. It’s a story of truthful reporters who strive to deliver the facts in a world full of fake news. Kim Baek-jin (Kim Joo-hyuk) is an anchor, reporter, and leader of investigative reporting program “Argon”. He does not tolerate mistakes, and relies only on facts. Meanwhile, Lee Yeon-hwa (Chun Woo-hee) is a contract reporter. Three months before her contract is to end, she is assigned to work at “Argon”. She struggles to get a permanent job there as a reporter. She receives strict training, and grows as a reporter while Working with Kim Baek-jin.

Kim Joo-hyuk has starred in 21 movies from his debut on the big screen in 2001 until he passed away. Kim began his career in big screen ‘movie’ industry in 2001, he played Jung-hyun in a movie called Say Yes. After that, he appeared as Oh Dae-hyeon in  YMCA Baseball Team that aired in 2002. After that, he continuously has appeared in a movie every year.

In 2008, he was acted as Noh Deok-hoon in My Wife Got Married. The film is adapted from a bestselling novel of the same name by Park Hyun-wook. He got the Best Couple Award with Son Ye-jin at the 29th Blue Dragon Film Awards.

His two latest movie aired in 2018, but the movie finished shooting before Kim passed away. Kim played Jo Hyuk in Heung-boo: The Revolutionist and as Ha-rim in Believer.
