A-Jax: Profile, Facts, Discography, Disbandment

Disbandment

In early 2019, unfortunate news came from A-Jax, which decided to disperse after working together for seven years. This news was immediately announced by their agency, DSP Media, on Sunday, March 31st, 2019.

DSP Media shared its official statement through the official fan café of the boy band that debuted in 2012. Through the statement, DSP Media said that the exclusive contract of the five members of A-Jax has ended.
The following is the official statement of DSP Media as quoted from Soompi:
“Hello, this is DSP Media. We want to share news about our group, A-JAX. We inform you that the exclusive contracts of the five A-Jax members will expire on March 31st (2019). From now on, A-Jax members will continue to move forward in their own ways in the entertainment industry (South Korea). Please continue to support and love A-Jax members. Thanks.”
This news certainly surprised the fans. They said they were very sad because A-Jax had to disperse. The owner of the Twitter account @JayAlexx for example wished that A-Jax deserves the best.
“I’m very sad about the (dissolution) of A-JAX, ‘You’ is a very good song, they really deserve the best,” the user wrote on Twitter.

In addition, there are also fans who blame the agency for not providing an opportunity for A-Jax to shine.
“Why don’t people talk a lot about A-JaX? (They are) a talented boy band. Too bad they broke up, but DSP really didn’t give them a chance to shine. I hope they can keep going, and get the love they deserve since their debut in 2012,” another Twitter user commented.
Although the group activities until the beginning of 2019, A-Jax’s last album titled Snake was released in 2013. However, A-Jax actively appeared on various South Korean variety shows, one of which appeared on the KBS TV channel program, The Unit, where Junghee and Seungjin participated, and both were eliminated and did not enter the final line-up. Junghee finished 50th while Seungjin was 43rd.

It’s unfortunate news indeed.

“Following the expiration of A-JAX’s contract, I wanted to start my second life as not an idol but as just one man with the person I love!

“I want to simultaneously apologize and express gratitude to the many people who have treasured and supported me who is very lacking for a long time.

“Thank you very much to everyone who has congratulated me after hearing the news.
