4Ten’s Official debut

4TEN made their debut on August 26th, 2014, by releasing their debut single “Tornado.” Two days later, on August 28th, 2014, 4TEN made their debut showcase on Mnet’s M! Countdown. 4TEN comes from the word Potential. The group desire to show their music potential to fans. On January 5th, 2015, 4TEN released their second single “Why,” and made a comeback performance at KBS2’s Music Bank.

Line-up Changes

Unfortunately, the original formation broke up in June 2015. TEM and Eujin left 4TEN and Jungle Entertainment to pursue solo activities. Later, 4TEN recruited three new members, Heeo, Yun, and Hajeong. Jungle Entertainment decided to change the group’s name into Poten. 4TEN/Poten released another single, “Go Easy,” in July 2015. POTEN appeared on United States Independence Day commemoration on Yongsan Garrison on July 4th, 2015.

In 2016, there were also several line-up changes. In early 2016, Hajeong left POTEN. Due to her departure, POTEN was left with four members. Jungle Entertainment decided to change and return the group name into the original name, 4TEN.

4TEN released the first mini-album, Jack of All Trades on February 23rd, 2016. Yun had to undergo an operation due to her health issue. 4TEN revealed that her surgery was the reason behind the delay in their comeback. The surgery went well and Yun started her recovery period.

After finishing the promotion of the single “Severely,” 4TEN went into a long break. During the break, some of the 4TEN members participated in YG Entertainment’s Mix Nine Project. All participants from 4TEN failed to make the final appearance.

Appearances in Mix Nine

Mix Nine was an idol survival program that was formed by YG Entertainment and aired on jTBC. YG Entertainment’s former CEO, Yang Hyun-suk traveled to places all around Korea to look for idol talents. Hyeji, Hyejin, and Heeo participated in the program from November to December 2017. All of them were eliminated and couldn’t make it as the final nine contestants.
