Debut with 2PM

Jun.K first debuted as a member of 2PM through Mnet’s Hot Blood Men, a documentary that captured the group’s training days to become members of the boy band known as One Day. Eventually, One Day separated the trainees into two groups, 2AM and 2PM.

Usually, most of the Korean boy bands at the time adopted a pretty boy image. However, 2PM constructed a different image with a tough and macho beast-like image. 2PM emphasized their masculine images and created the jimseung-dol (jimseung means an animal or beast in Korean) phenomenon in 2008.

The group officially debuted on September 4th, 2008, with their debut song “10 Points Out of 10 Points.” The song showcased their acrobatic dance styles. They achieved their first number 1 single with “Again & Again.” Both songs are featured on 2PM’s album titled The First Album 1:59 PM that was released in 2009.

The band released another Korean album, known as Hands Up, in 2011. The title track “Hands Up” gained massive success both in Korea and worldwide.

After more than a year, the group returned in 2013 with their third studio album Grown. In September 2014, 2PM came back to the Korean Music Industry with their fourth studio album Go Crazy. On June 15th, 2015, 2PM made a comeback with their fifth studio album No.5. After a one year hiatus, the highly anticipated 2PM returned on September 13th, 2016, with their sixth studio album Gentlemen’s Game.

Jun.K debuted as a solo singer on October 7th, 2011, by releasing his debut single “Alive.” The song quickly became number one on Cyworld. The song shows a deeper look into Jun. K’s unique musical world. It has a smooth beat that reveals a new charm to the singer.

In 2012, he took part in the soundtrack of the Korean drama I Love Lee Tae-ri with the song called “Love… Goodbye.” The same year, he also began his acting career by playing the role of D’Artagnan in the musical theatre The Three Musketeers. Love Life and Opening Up About His Ex-Girlfriend Getting Married

Jun.K wrote the lyrics of the song, “Your Wedding” based on his personal experience. It is a song depicting the sadness of attending one’s ex-girlfriend’s wedding. Jun.K revealed he heard the news of his ex-girlfriend’s wedding. The singer did not attend his ex-girlfriend’s wedding. However, he wrote the song based on his feelings at that very moment.

On February 26th, Jun.K suffered an accident when he was performing with his group 2PM at their 6 Nights concert event. He fell off the stage in between moving platforms and was immediately taken away by a stretcher and admitted into a hospital. Jun.K had to undergo surgery because he fractured his elbow and his finger and he was also further examined because of pain in his chest and knee.

On March 17th, 2017, 2PM’s Jun.K posted a video on his personal Instagram with the captions, “I’m starting rehabilitation exercise after being discharged from hospital.”
