Enlistment In The Military

Last year, on July 9th, 2018, 2PM’s Wooyoung official enlisted in the military. This is a duty for all Korean men who have a healthy body and mind, then have enough age to serve the country. He entered the recruit training center of the 21st Infantry Division. He was sent off by his family and fellow band members.

Wooyoung, followed his fellow members who had done their mandatory military service before him, such as Jun.K and Taecyeon. 2PM’s Twitter account shared a photo of him with his haircut and wrote, “We don’t have to say much! 2PM’s crazy and talented boy, return safely!!”

Wooyoung had been sent nicely by his family and 2PM members. He also took a good farewell from his good friend, Jo Kwon.

Jo Kwon also took to Instagram on July 9th, 2018, to share some text messages exchanged between the two idols before Wooyoung’s enlistment. Wooyoung seems to have sent Jo Kwon a military salute selca, to which Jo Kwon said, “You didn’t even get to eat TT. What time do you go tomorrow?”

Wooyoung responded with, “I love you,” to which Jo Kwon remarked, “Don’t be sick Wooyoung. The friend who came into the company wearing hip-hop pants is now 30 years old and going to the army.” Wooyoung then said, “Let’s be healthy. I love you!”

He will be discharged from the military around 2021, depending on how he performs in his tasks and if he is able to be promoted.
