“Please Don’t Go” tells a sweet story about the girl who is in love and feels happy when he is by her side, but she becomes depressed and might go crazy when they are apart. She asks him to always stay by her side and don’t go. The chorus of the song is really catchy, “please don’t go. Stay by my side. Tonight I don’t wanna be alone. Please don’t go. You have to stay. So my feelings towards you will last an eternity, my baby. Let’s ride, ride
till we reach the opposite side of the night. Let’s fly, fly till the sunrise.”

CL and Minzy first performed their collaboration song “Please Don’t Go” live on November 21st, 2009, at the Mnet Asian Music Awards for 2NE1’s musical performance titled “21 Jump Street.”

The duo sequentially performed the song on popular music program Inkigayo twice. CL and Minzy performed “Please Don’t Go” on Inkigayo on December 13th, 2009.

She also explained the process of writing the lyrics of “Goodbye,” the last song of 2NE1 before disbandment.

During the show, she said, “I actually wrote those lyrics in 10 minutes. Honestly, our fans, Blackjacks, were also in my mind, however, those words actually were what I wanted to say to Minzy. It was basically just a letter that I wrote to Minzy.”

The former 2NE1 leader couldn’t hold back her tears when she shared her feelings about Minzy who left the group and the group disbanded. She then added, “It must be so hard for Minzy. I hope you are happy, and I am always cheering you on. And if you are going to be on your own way, do well. Show me what you can do.”

CL also expressed her feelings that she has been struggling with the group’s disbandment. She said, “I feel sad about how things turned out. Personally, it was hard for me. Because I became a leader at an early age, I felt a strange responsibility. I wanted to keep going until the end.”
