Knowing More About 8eight Music

Although not many international Kpop fans know them, 8eight is considered a successful co-ed group in South Korea. Debuting under Big Hit Entertainment and becoming the senior labelmate of BTS in 2007, 8eight which earned the title as the Korean wannabe of Black Eyed Peas has released a ton of songs in the genres ballad and R&B. Thus, Channel-Korea here will provide the lists of every 8eight album and songs which they have released. So, stay tuned!

8eight ‘The First’ Album

8eight released their first full album titled ‘ The First’ on 6 September 2007. There are ten tracks in the album, namely ‘Forget About Love and Sing’, ‘Can I Love’, ‘Going Crazy’,’ We Can’t Love’, ‘If I Only Had One Day (featuring boy group V.O.S)’, ‘Come Back’, ‘I Can Hear the Memories’, ‘Listen to Me’ (featuring solo singers Lim Jeong Hee and K.Will)’, ‘Between’ (featuring composer Pdogg and ex-members Wonder Girls Sun Ye and Ye Eun), and ‘World Full of Love’. Here we recommend to you, dear readers, that you listen to two tracks which are contained in ‘The First’ album. The first track is a ballad song titled ‘Going Crazy’ which started off with Joo Hee’s soulful falsetto and Baek Chan’s smooth rap.

The second track which Channel-Korea recommends is a cheerful song titled ‘Between’ which features Big Hit’s current producer Pdogg and the former member of Wonder Girls, Sun Ye and Ye Eun. Notably, ‘Between’ is a remake version of P.Diddy’s song. Let’s check it out!

8eight released their second full album titled ‘Infinity’ on 3 March 2008. Just like their first album, in this album 8eight sung a total of ten tracks including ‘Let Me Go’ (featuring producer Cho PD),  ‘I Love You’ (featuring ex-member Girls’ Generation Jessica)’, ‘Sometin’ Sometin’’, ‘One Love’, ‘Going to Ask’, ‘In the Morning’, ‘She’s Here’, ‘Me Jo Hee’ (featuring composer Pdogg), ‘Another Footstep’, and ‘Holding Onto the Collar’ (featuring Park Min Hye of Big Mama). Here we recommend to you, dear readers, that you listen to two tracks which are contained in the ‘Infinity’ album. The first track is an R&B song titled ‘She’s Here’ which has the retro vibe and starts off with Lee Hyun’s husky vocal.

The second track which Channel-Korea recommends is a cheerful song titled ‘I Love You’ which features the former member of Girls’ Generation, Jessica Jung, who filled the background voice and adlibs in the song. Let’s check it out!

8eight released their third full album titled ‘Golden Age’ exactly a year after ‘Infinity’ released on 3 March 2009. Just like their previous albums, in this album 8eight sung a total of ten tracks, including ‘The Light of My Life’, ‘Poor Sunflower’, ‘Don’t Suppress’, ‘Without a Heart’, ‘Now Painful Enough’, ‘Numbers’, ‘Can’t Stop’,  ‘You Said You Love’, ‘Pick’, and ‘Freedom’. Here we recommend to you, dear readers, that you listen to two tracks which are contained in the ‘Golden Age’ album. The first track is a ballad song titled ‘Now Painful Enough’ in which musical instruments fill with strums of guitar and it starts off with Lee Hyun’s  moving voice.

The second track is also a ballad song titled ‘Without a Heart’ which starts off with piano and Joo Hee’s emotional vocal. The song has also been covered by 8eight’s junior labelmate, BTS on Golden Disk Award in 2017. Let’s check the original version out!

 8eight ‘The Bridge’ Mini Album

8eight released their first mini-album titled ‘The Bridge’ on 30 March 2010. There are six tracks in the album, including ‘Love is going  (intro)’, ‘The End is Coming’, ‘Even if your face change’, ‘Star’ (featuring ex-members 2AM Changmin and Jinwoon), ‘ Availability Period’, and ‘The Bridge (outro)’. Here we recommend to you, dear readers, that you listen to two tracks which are contained in ‘The Bridge’ album. The first track is ‘The End is Coming’ which starts with the main vocals Lee Hyun and Joo Hee’s touching voices and has orchestral instruments in the background.

The second track is the funky ballad song ‘Availability Period’ which draws you in by its electronic instruments and the catchy chorus which is sung by Joo Hee. Many people found that the song reminds them of G-Dragon’s ‘A-Boy’ and Lee Hi’s ‘Rose’. Well, regardless of the similarities, let’s check ‘Availability Period’ in the video below!

Here we recommend to you, dear readers, that you listen to two tracks which are contained in the ‘8eight’ album. The first track is an R&B song titled ‘You’re really great’ which has a breezy vibe that may make you feel at ease.

The second track is another R&B song titled ‘U Make Me Feel Brand New’ which started off with Lee Hyun’s soft voice that goes well with the musical instrument. Let’s check it out!

8eight Single Songs

Although they have released albums which have the title track, 8eight also separately released singles which have already been released on their albums, such as the song which featured ex-member Girls’ Generation Jessica ‘I Love You’, the funky ballad ‘Availability Period’, and ‘Covering Those Lips’ which is full of the beat. However, there are songs that are not included in the albums and only stay as single songs. The first song is ‘Music is My Life (part 2)’ with a duration that is not even longer than a minute.

The second song is done by 8eight’s rapper Baek Chan who released his solo single ‘The Analogueman in This Digital World’, while the third song is titled ‘Don’t Go Crazy’ which was released on 19 September 2014. Let’s check it out!

8eight Collaboration Songs

Not only have they sung by themselves, 8eight has also done collaborations with many Kpop artists. Just like in the previous section, Channel-Korea will recommend some songs on which 8eight has collaborated with other singers that you may like. The first song comes from first-generation boy group Shinhwa’s lead rapper and lead dancer, Junjin, who released his first solo song ‘Wa’. It features 8eight female vocalist Joo Hee. The fast-paced tempo of the song will totally make you energized!

The second song which Channel-Korea recommends is Lena Park’s ‘Winter Kiss’, which features 8eight rapper Baek Chan. The song has a Christmas feel and it has a similar tone to Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’, don’t you think so?

The last song that Channel-Korea recommends is 2AM’s ‘I Love You’ which features 8eight’s main vocalists Lee Hyun and Joo Hee. The song has an R&B genre that makes you want to sing along. Let’s check it out!
