Everyone who is into K-Pop must have been familiar with YG Entertainment, especially their two most popular k-pop bands, Bigbang and 2NE1. 2NE1, who debuted in 2009, has gained so much popularity with their 4 members, including CL, Sandara park, Minzy, and Park Bom. 2NE1 has released 3 studio albums, 3 extended plays, and 25 singles so far which led them to lots of success. Although 2NE1 is not as active as they used to be, their hits songs will always be in everyone’s heart. Here we will remind you of 2NE1’s songs since their debut, so check them out!

2NE1’s Debut Song

2NE1 became first known by appearing in an advertisement song featuring Bigbang “Lollipop” which was released on March 2009; “Lollipop” succeeded at being in top rank of Mnet for 4 weeks.

After that, 2NE1 released their official debut song “FIRE”, on 6 Mei 2009 which was written and produced by Teddy Park from 1TYM. “FIRE” was release in 2 versions of Music Video, 2NE1 – FIRE (Street version) and 2NE1 – FIRE (Space version). “FIRE” is a hip hop/reggae style song, which then formed the identity of 2NE1’s songs. 2NE1’s” Clap Your Hands” was released on 8 September 2010 as the forth single from their first full album “To Anyone”. Their “Clap Your Hands” is a song written by Kim Byunghoon and produced by Teddy Park and team. “Clap Your Hands” is super catchy, as it is one of 2NE1’s electro-pop track. The music video is totally awesome, as Minzy and CL did the rap part in a jungle.

2. 2NE1 – Do You Love Me

2NE1’s “Do You Love Me” was a big hit in 2013, as it was released on 7th August 2013. “Do You Love Me” is another of 2NE1’s electro pop songs. The music video looks so fun because it was filmed in a party scene. The song can also be easily recognized as CL was spelling out D.O. YOU. LOVE. ME. for the song opening.

3. 2NE1 – It Hurts (Slow)

“It Hurts” was 2NE1’s 7th single from their “To Anyone” album. 2NE1 was praised for being able to reach out beyond their original music style. The music video was released on Halloween night, and that’s why the theme was Gothic dark. After the music video was released, not only 2NE1 but YG Ent., was praised for never lacking in new and unique ideas. “It Hurts” is a Pop and R&B song and is one of 2NE1’s most successful song as it reached 1.7 millions downloads by the end of 2010, the digital copies have also sold over 2,300,000 copies.

4. 2NE1 – I Don’t Care

2NE1’s “I Don’t Care” was a hit in 2009. It stayed in the top charts in a lot of music shows, such as Mnet cuntdown, Music Bank, and SBS Inkigayo. This was so especially in Music Bank where “I Don’t Care” stayed in 1st place for 5 weeks continuously. This song shows a more feminine and softer image of 2NE1. “Try to Follow Me” is one of the singles in the “To Anyone” album, but it was previously a song to promote Samsung’s “Corby CF”. It is another of 2NE1’s successful singles, as it was downloaded over 1,770,000 times by the end of 2010, and it sold over 2,400,000 digital copies.

8. 2NE1 – Go Away

“Go Away” was praised as it brought up a story line for the music video, telling a story about a girl who broke up with her boyfriend who is a car-racer. In the music video, CL showed her acting skill, especially when she teared up during the last minute of her race with her ex-boyfriend. The climax was breathtaking as CL’s car bumped her ex boyfriend’s car and exploded. The music video then led to 2NE1 winning the MYX Music Awards 2011 “Favorite K-pop Video Award”.  2NE1 also re-released “Go Away” in Japanese with “It Hurts” for its Japanese title.

9. 2NE1 – Ugly

This is one of 2NE1’s songs that contains a very deep meaning behind it. “Ugly” has a really deep meaning about girls’ jealousy and how they don’t want to be lied to and cursed because of their looks. “Just like her I wanna be pretty / I wanna be pretty / Don’t lie to my face / ‘Cause I know I’m ugly.”

10. 2NE1 – Can’t Nobody

“Can’t nobody, can’t nobody hold us down, Cause we keep rockin, ‘ we keep rock rockin’.” “Can’t Nobody”, just like most of 2NE1’s songs, shows 2NE1’s music style with its fierce rap and big choruses, but the cool thing about this music video is that it brought up a space ship concept. “Can’t Nobody” was the 6th single from the “To Anyone” album that was released in both a Korean and an English version. It immediately ranked 4th in charts after it was released, and it was downloaded more than 2,337,528 times by the end of 2010.

11. 2NE1 – Goodbye

“Does anyone know? Does anyone know how it makes me feel?” Goodbye was written by Minzy before she stated that she would depart from 2NE1 and was sung by the only 3 members left. The song is so emotional and heartbreaking that, if you are a big fan of 2NE1, you will be tearing up after listening to “Goodbye”. The music video itself was simple, as it only showed each member in the dark shadows along with some of 2NE1’s MVs and performances in it. But “Goodbye” also gives a hope to everyone that they might comeback as one, “Until the faraway day when we meet again.”

12. 2NE1 – Come Back Home

“Come Back Home” is one of 2NE1 most successful songs that is known not only by 2NE1 fans, but also all K-pop lovers. “Missing You” is another 2NE1’s songs that has super deep lyrics just like “Goodbye”. “Missing You” is known as 2NE1’s best ballad song, which shows their calm, slow, and soft style. All members of 2NE1 got so into the song that even Dara herself mentioned that she cried a lot during the recording. It wasn’t only the good music and touching lyrics that attracted everyone, but the music video also gained a lot of attention, both good and bad, as CL went naked during scene in second chorus.

14. 2NE1 – Gotta Be You

“Gotta Be You” is a 2NE1 song that was released to celebrate 2NE1’s 5th anniversary after their debut, it is also the last song that was sung with Minzy before she left 2NE1. “Gotta Be You” is the last single from the “Crush” album. The lyrics have almost the same meaning as the lyrics from “Missing You”, but the song itself is really energetic with CL’s rap opening. “I Love You” was released in July 2012. “I Love You” brought 2NE1 to the top of the Billboard Korea K-pop Hot 100 for the first time. Not only that, it also became the first Korean song that was played on BBC Radio. And only 3 weeks after it released, “I Love You” succeeded in getting 1,346,000 donwloads and it became one of the fastest-selling Korean female girbands.

18. 2NE1 – I Am The Best

“I Am The Best” was an electronic hip hop track released in 2009. “I Am The Best” was 2NE1’s most famous song, from their self-titled second EP. It sold 3.47 million copies and became one of the best selling songs in South Korea. Not only that, but the “I Am The Best” music video reached 100 million views. “I Am The Best” brought 2NE1 an award in 2011 Mnet Asian Music Award as “Song of the Year”.

2NE1’s first mini album “2NE1” was released on July 2009 consisting of 7 songs. Being a newbie at that time, 2NE1 succeeded in showing that they are one of Korea’s best girlbands.
